End of the Year Wrap Up – 2025

2025 has been an… interesting year to say the least. After 2024 I didn’t think it could get much worse, but there were some tough times my family and I had to get through.

In January, I took a leap of faith and wrote a short story for a sapphic anthology… and I was accepted!

You can now get A Thorn’s Rose pretty much anywhere books are sold 😉

In March, I published the second book in the All the Way series, Give it All.

Other than that, I haven’t gotten much writing done this year. I wrote a few short stories, some of them posted here. One I sent to another anthology and I’m waiting to hear back.

In November 2024, I lost my sweet girl Izzie. I didn’t think I could feel anything as painful again, but in July this year we lost Beauregard.

Both losses were due to cancer and it was absolutely terrifying. I wasn’t sure if I was going to lose another cat. Or if there was something going on in the house that I didn’t know about.

A few weeks later we rescued a kitten that had been living in a tree on a woman’s property down the street from us. It was again terrifying to open our hearts to another cat after losing two only months apart, but Felix is the sweetest boy.

The rest of the year has been kind of quiet. I’ve been working on learning how to draw and paint. I want to give myself a hobby that I don’t have to monetize and that I can simply enjoy. Not that I don’t enjoy writing, but sometimes it feels overwhelming.

Oh! I also opened a business with my mom, Lou. Honestly, it’s been tough, but we made at least two sales every month this year, and I think that’s great for a first year. I’m enjoying being in business with my best friend. And I’m excited to see what comes with the new year for Spilled Ink and Coffee.

I think that’s it! I hope everyone has a happy new year and I’ll see you round the corner in 2026!
